Parents As Teachers at Home (PATH-23)
Psalm 23:3 - He restores my soul, He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake. PATH-23 (Parents As Teachers at Home) is an open Christian support group and is part of the North Jersey Home Schoolers Association. We have approximately 80 families and are centered in Pompton Plains, NJ. The leadership council of the group is Christian and meets throughout the year. Members are expected to contribute to the success of PATH-23. The more individual families contribute time and ideas, the more varied, numerous, and helpful the offerings of the group. We are interested in expanding the impact of Christ\\\'s kingdom in northern New Jersey, beginning with the godly development and Christian disciplining of our children. Membership entitles the family to our monthly newsletter, our annual directory, membership card, good for discounts on educational material, and a discount on membership to HSLDA (Home School Legal Defense Association). Membership dues are annual. Some highlights of past activities include: Activities Day, full music program for band and choir students, concert performances, Fine Arts Night, Iowa basic skills testing, sports programs, Field Day, Buehler Challenger Space and Science Center mission, curriculum fair, science fair, spelling bee, math Olympiad competition, speech competition, field trips and Toastmaster classes. Meetings for the 2003-2004 year are scheduled for the second Thursday in September, October, November, March, April, and May. We meet from 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at Grace Bible Church located at 150 Sunset Road, Pompton Plains, NJ All adults presently homeschooling or interested in homeschooling are welcome to attend these support group meetings. We discuss successes and struggles in our homeschooling venture, learn from programs of interest to homeschooling families, and pray for one another. Our support group meetings are primarily for adults, though some childcare is provided for younger children.City:
